[08_18_12]Official visit by the Chief Justice of Korea to Central Europe

Chief Justice YANG Sung-tae paid an official visit to Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. This is the first official visit made by Chief Justice Yang after his appointment as the head of the Korean Judiciary in September 2011.

 

The first destination was Czech Republic during which the talks between the two heads of the respective judiciary was held between Chief Justice Yang and Chief Justice Iva Brožová. The two Chief Justices met for first time since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea an Czech Republic in 1900. In Hungary, Chief Justice Yang attended official working luncheon hosted by Chief Justice Péter Darák and discussed measures to promote judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and shared experiences of judicial IT.

 

On August 28, 2012, Chief Justice Yang visited Poland and met with Chief Justice Stania©©aw Dąbrowski. During the occasion the two Chief Justices exchanged opinions and measures to promote judicial exchanges and shared ideas and experiences of diverse judicial issues. Chief Justice Yang also met with President Andrzej Rzeplinski of the Consitutional Tribunal, President Roman Hauser of Supreme Administrative Court and President Antoni Górski of the National Judicial Council of Poland and exchanged ideas and viewpoints on the subject of respective judicial procedure.

 

Chief Justice's first visit to Central Europe served as a valuable opportunity to promote mutual understanding and exchanges in the judicial arena of the respective countries.
