President Branko Hrvatin of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia visited Korea from November 21 to 26, 2016 upon the invitation of Chief Justice YANG Sung-tae to expand exchanges and strengthen cooperative relationship between the supreme courts of Korea and Croatia.

President Hrvatin made this visit in response to the previous visit of Chief Justice Yang to the Supreme Court of Croatia in October 2014.

President Hrvatin also chairs the Election Commission of the Republic of Croatia and is highly trusted and regarded to be renewed and reappointed for two consecutive terms as the President of Supreme Court since his first appointment in July 2005.

He visited the Supreme Court of Korea on November 22 and paid courtesy call on Chief Justice Yang, then visited the Judicial Research and Training Institute and travelled to Busan to visit Busan High Court on November 23. On the next day, he returned to Seoul to visit the National Human Rights Commission and to take part in other important events.

The judiciaries of Korea and Croatia believe that the visitation of President Hrvatin to Korea will take the mutual judicial understandings to the next level and expand the high-level judicial exchanges between the supreme courts of the two nations.
