[02_01_17] Appointment Ceremony of Specialized Judges |
---|
The Supreme Court held appointment ceremony for two new judges on February 1, 2017 in Mugunghwa Hall. The two newly appointed judges are “specialized judges” with limited jurisdiction on specific types of civil cases.
The position was newly created as part of the effort to serve the purpose of revised Court Organization Act with higher qualification requirements of judge appointees with fifteen or longer years of legal experiences. Since the first appointment of three specialized judges in 2013, total twelve specialized judges were appointed including the two new appointees. Over time, the jurisdiction of specialized judges also expanded from small claim cases to general claim cases from 2015.
As the Chief Justice donned judicial gowns on the two new judges, he congratulated the two new appointees for the new start as judges and called on to endeavor to communicate with the citizens and have the integrity for trusted trials.
The Judiciary expects that the new specialized judges with extensive experiences and high moral standards will gain the public trust and confidence through trials and provide the exemplary model of lifelong judgeship. |
