On December 2, 2024, the Supreme Court introduced a new service that allows individuals to obtain an image-certified copy of their archived family register online. This service dramatically improves convenience for the public by allowing people to obtain and read the image-certified copy without having to visit the registration office. 

There are two types of image books containing removed entries: (1) image computerized book of removed entries, (2) image computerized family registers removed. Prior to the launch of this new service, the applicant had to visit the registration office to obtain image book of removed entries.

Image certified copy of archived family register can be obtained following the same process used to acquire a certified copy and a certified extract of archived family register by accessing the Supreme Court Family Registration System (http://efamily.scourt.go.kr).

A certified copy of the archived family register can be obtained using the applicant’s personal information. However, some image-certified copies of archived family register may not be available for online issuance due to practical limitations and can only be obtained by visiting the registration office.
