On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:00 am (local time), Justice KWON Young Joon visited the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. and met with Chief Justice John Roberts.

Justice Kwon is the third Korean Supreme Court Justice to meet with the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, following former Justices KIM Hwang-sik in 2007 and AHN Chul-sang in 2018.

During their meeting, Justice Kwon delivered a letter from Chief Justice Jo Hee-de, inviting Chief Justice Roberts to participate in the Sejong International Conference scheduled to take place this year, hosted by the Supreme Court of Korea.

The Sejong International Conference will be held in Seoul on September 22-23, 2025, under the theme “Advancing the Rule of Law and Enhancing Access to Justice.” It will bring together esteemed legal professionals from across the globe.
