The Supreme Court will receive public recommendations of Supreme Court Justice candidates from within and outside the judiciary during January 15 - 25, 2021 to select qualified candidate who will succeed the position of Justice PARK Sang-ok retiring on May 8, 2021.

The Supreme Court will also receive public recommendations for the Recommendation Council’s three members who are to be nominated from outside the judiciary during January 15 – 21, 2021.

After the period, the Supreme Court will announce the list of candidates who agreed for the evaluation process and the information on their educational background, career experiences, property, military service records, etc., and gather extensive public opinions on the candidates.

The Supreme Court will be open to perspectives from various spheres of the society while ensuring transparency of the process, in order to uphold the Constitutional values and protect the basic rights of the citizens. The Supreme Court expects to nominate a successful Justice who will be an important member of the Supreme Court that ensures social justice and protect human rights.
