Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo of the Philippines and a 25-member delegation, including Filipino Ambassador Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega to the Republic of Korea and Mr. Dennis Anthony H. Uy, Special Envoy on Digital Transformation to the ROK visited Korea from November 6 to 7, 2023.

The main purpose of the delegation’s visit was to benchmark the e-litigation system of the Korean judiciary and the achievements of streamlining court procedures in Korea.

Chief Justice Gesmundo and his delegation visited the Supreme Court to pay a courtesy call on the Acting Chief Justice AHN Chulsang to join the briefing session on an e-litigation system of the Korean judiciary and to tour the Supreme Court building. Furthermore, the delegation had the opportunity to observe the advanced judicial IT system, including e-litigation and e-court of Korea, by visiting various affiliated institutions of the Korean judiciary, such as Seoul Central District Court, Supreme Court IT Center, and Judicial Research and Training Institute. Chief Justice Gesmundo’s visit to Korea is expected to promote judicial exchanges between Korea and the Philippines.
