In September 2024, the Judicial Division of LAWASIA officially proposed that the Supreme Court of Korea host the 20th Conference of Chief Justices of Asia and the Pacific in 2026. Chief Justice Jo announced during his closing remarks at the 19th Conference in Malaysia that the Supreme Court of Korea will host the upcoming event in Seoul.
The Republic of Korea will be the first country in Asia to host this event three times, following the 8th and 14th Conferences held in Seoul in 1999 and 2011. This upcoming conference will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase the Korean judiciary and promote its advancement in the international community.
