On October 5, 2021, appointment ceremony was held for 156 newly appointed judges at the Grand Auditorium of the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice KIM Myeongsu emphasized to the new judges, who are experienced legal practitioners from various areas of law, to “have the courage and vocation to declare justice and conduct trials only in accordance with the law and your conscience in order to uphold the independence of judicial trials.”

He also stressed the importance of communication with kind and humble mindset in his speech that, “judges must be able to understand the fatigue and desperation of life embodied in each individual case.”

The appointment ceremony was carried out in compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines, such as body temperature checks and wearing masks.
