Honorable fellow citizens!

New Year 2015, the Year of the Blue Sheep, has dawned. The dedicated staff of the judiciary and I send our warm greetings to you all.  I sincerely wish that you will realize everything that you have set out to achieve in the New Year and that your homes are filled with joy and happiness.

Last year, we suffered grief and difficulties that could not be forgotten for a long time.  However, we did our utmost in gathering our strengths and wisdom to overcome the hardship.  We also made continuous efforts to work toward further advancement.  In the New Year, I hope the entire nation to come together in unity to wisely overcome any adversity that might be ahead of us so that we advance by leaps and bounds this year more than any other years of the past.

Fellow citizens!

Korean judiciary is being credited for providing a world-class justice system by international organizations such as the World Bank for four consecutive years. Such achievement would not have been possible without your support and encouragement.  All members of the judiciary continue to endeavor to bring the court closer to the people, based on firm belief that public trust is the grounds for our very existence.  In the New Year, the judiciary will strive to ensure stability and peace in every corner of our society with a modest mindset and indomitable spirits for realization of the rule of law.

Resolving disputes through fair trials based on swift and legally sufficient hearings is the ideal trial that the judiciary envisions to achieve. With such trials, we are committed to gathering all our wisdom to realize a justice system that will make the people feel more satisfied.

As we endeavor to make the court better communicate with the people, I ask for your support and encouragement so that our efforts may come to fruition.
