The Supreme Court of Korea held the appointment ceremony on April 1, 2016 at the Main Auditorium of the Supreme Court for 74 newly appointed judges who have legal experiences as short as three to five years.

As per the confirmed number of 100 judges with short-term legal experiences to be appointed this year as predetermined by the Council of Supreme Court Justices convened on February 25, 2016, 74 graduates of Judicial Research and Training Institute were appointed as judges, and appointment for 26 law school graduates will be made on August 1, 2016 immediately after when seven of them serving as military judicial officers are discharged from the army.

Following the ceremony, an informal celebration reception was provided at the Main Hall of the Supreme Court for the new judges and their families.
