The National Court Administration has been actively developing and distributing legal education materials for the public. This includes the “Court Cases that Empower” video series and publications aimed at young audiences, such as “Baromi’s Adventures in Trial Stories” (Volumes 1-6) and “Court and Trial Stories Every Teen Should Know” (Volumes 1-5). In 2025, the “Court Cases that Empower” series was adapted into a webtoon and motion comic titled "Son-lomon x Court Cases: Three Days of Survival." This adaptation consists of approximately 20 webtoon panels and six motion comic episodes. Additionally, four animated educational videos for elementary school students, each around five minutes long, were created under the title “Trial Stories with Charlie.” Son-lomon x Court Cases: Three Days of Survival tells the story of Research Judge Son-lomon. He makes a deal with a grim reaper to save five people in three days using legal cases. This series shows five real-life court cases in an easy-to-understand and engaging way. It aims to keep viewers interested while teaching them useful legal knowledge. The webtoon and motion-comic series will be released in April and May 2026 on the Supreme Court of Korea’s official YouTube channel, the Court’s Website for Kids, and CourTV, which is used for judicial education. Trial Stories with Charlie is about Charlie, a legal master from the Planet of Justice. He helps elementary school students Suho and Jiyul solve different problems while teaching them about trials, court proceedings, and Korea’s judicial system. This series is designed for upper-grade elementary students and includes four episodes: 1. From the King’s Court to Today’s Courtroom, 2. Hidden Principles of the Courtroom, 3. Not All Trials Are the Same, and 4. An Exciting Encounter with a Judge. These episodes explain judicial concepts through fun stories. You can find the animated videos on the Supreme Court of Korea’s YouTube channel and Naver Court TV. They will also be distributed by the Ministry of Education for use in elementary school classrooms across the country. The National Court Administration hopes that this legal education content will deepen public understanding of the law and judicial system, while inspiring the younger generation to grow into responsible citizens with a sound legal mind. |
