On February 3, 2025, the Supreme Court held a ceremony to appoint four new specialized judges with over 20 years of legal experience. The event took place at the Mugunghwa Hall, located on the 16th floor of the Supreme Court building. It is anticipated that, given the extensive experience these judges have, there will be a positive effect on satisfaction with trials, and that trust in the judiciary will be fostered by overseeing cases that have a direct impact on people's lives.

The four new specialized judges are scheduled to receive training as new specialized judges at the Judicial Research and Training Institute from February 4, 2025 to February 21, 2025. This training is designed to enhance their capabilities as a single presiding judge, including trial practice and judgment writing. Following this training, they will be assigned to courts at all levels on February 24, 2025.
