Broadcast online on September 13 (Monday), 2021 at 10:00 am ○ The Supreme Court held a ceremony to mark the Court’s Day of Korea on September 13, 2021. ○ The Court designated September 13 as the Court’s Day of Korea in 2015 to reflect on the meaning of the judicial independence and renew the role of the court and the sense of duty of judges. ○ This year’s ceremony was held in the order of saluting the national flag, watching a video clip commemorating the Court’s Day, Chief Justice’s remarks, and introducing awardees of the official commendation of Chief Justice. ○ The entire ceremony was pre-recorded and will be broadcast to the public on September 13 (Monday), 2021 at 10:00 am online via Youtube, Naver TV, Kakao TV, and the official Facebook of the Supreme Court to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. ○ The MC for this year’s ceremony was Judge CHO Eun-kyung (Research Judge). Court staff participated in singing the national anthem with instrumental accompaniment and narration of the video clip. ○ The official commendation of Chief Justice will be rewarded to those who contributed to development of the judiciary and improvement of legal culture. This year’s awardees are: the late LEE Dae-yeon (the former Presiding Judge of Seoul Western District Court), CHO Young-su (Clerk of Court (G5)), CHOI Jin-ki (Junior Clerk of Court (G7), CHOI Jong-koon (Manager of Seoul region of Hankook e-im) and KIM Boo-chan (Executive Director of Social Cooperative Jeju Law). |
