**Celebration of Korean Court’s Day** The Supreme Court will hold a ceremony to commemorate the 10th Korean Court’s Day on September 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the main hall of the Supreme Court. The event will be live-streamed on the Supreme Court's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD_aIksD2S4). Since 2015, the Supreme Court has designated September 13 each year as Korean Court's Day. This day serves as an opportunity to reflect on the importance of judicial independence and to reaffirm the role of the court and the mandate of judges. This year, the ceremony will be an internal event primarily attended by judges and court officials. The program will follow this order: the Pledge of Allegiance, with the national anthem performed by the Hearts of Vision Chamber Orchestra; the Chief Justice's commendation; a commemorative address delivered by the Chief Justice; and a performance by the Incheon District Court Choir. The Chief Justice's commendation for Korean Court's Day will be awarded to several individuals who have significantly contributed to the development of the Korean courts and the improvement of legal culture. The recipients are as follows: - The late Kang Sang-wook, former judge of the Seoul High Court - Ahn Su-jin, Deputy Director for Family Fact-Finding at the Training Institute for Court Officials - Jang Yeon-jeong, IT junior official at the National Court Administration - Kim Jeong-ho, junior official at the Seoul Western District Court - Lee Sang-cheol, assistant junior official at the Daegu District Court - Kim Hyo-jeong, chief standing conciliation commissioner at the Uijeongbu District Court - Seo Jae-seong, conciliation commissioner at the Hongcheon Gun Court of the Chuncheon District Court - Choi Jeong-hye, special counselor for malicious complainants at the National Court Administration. |
