¡Ý Commemorating the Korean Court’s Day, the Supreme Court of Korea will hold a ceremony at the Grand Auditorium of the Supreme Court on September 13, 2017.

¡Ý Since September 13 was designated as the Korean Court’s Day in 2015, the members of the judiciary have looked back how the country’s judicial autonomy was restored, ruminated on the meaning of judicial independence and the rule of law, and reaffirmed the role of courts and the mission of judges, by participating the ceremony.

¡Ý The ceremony will commence at 11:00 am on September 13, 2017 as an internal event at which judges and court officials will attend. The screening of a video clip on the Court’s Day, a commemorative speech delivered by the Chief Justice, a commendation ceremony by the Chief Justice, and joint performance of Seoul Court Complex Choir and History Children’s Choir will proceed during the ceremony.

¡Ý The Chief Justice will present award certificates to Judge Shin Dong-ju who has run a cyber-school for protected juveniles; Kim Young-gak, court official at Chungju Branch Court, who has led volunteer work; Park Joong-geun, mediation commissioner at Ulsan District Court; and Lee Mi-rae, civil judicial commissioner at Changwon District Court.

¡Ý In addition, Seoul Court Complex Choir which consists of members of Korean courts and History Children’s Choir which consists of young students will sing ‘the steps of tomorrow’ in chorus at a commemorative performance.
